(hide this warning on this page)The Electron Microscopy Resource Lab (EMRL) at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, is a training and service facility dedicated to providing both conventional transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of cells and tissues and Negative stain EM. Our facility houses four transmission electron microscopes: JEM-1010 microscope for ultrastructure analysis; T12 for negative stain EM. The core facility offers services to University of Pennsylvania research groups and external academic research groups in the greater Philadelphia area.

The Ultrastructure Facility is the part of the Electron Microscopy Resource Laboratory that provides conventional transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of cells and tissues services to Penn research groups and external academic research groups in the greater Philadelphia area. The facility houses a JEOL JEM-1010 microscope, sample preparation instruments and all the accessories needed to perform fixing, processing, sectioning, staining, and imaging.
We offer the following services at the Ultrastructure Facility:

* Here, you will learn T12 TEM operation, Negative staining technique, safe operation of Microscope and holders. * You are required to purchase TEM grids for negative staining. Click Here and find CF300-Cu and add to cart. *This service fee is to reserve time of the expert trainer for supervision, training and teaching a user 2 sessions (4 hrs each). * Training is available on Monday and Tuesday 1 PM to 5 PM only. *This training is a pre-requisite and required for every user before requesting Cryo-EM training. |
