Overview of Services

Welcome to the Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center Tumor BioTrust Collection
Established in 2007, the Ovarian Cancer Research Center (OCRC) Tumor BioTrust Collection at the University of Pennsylvania has been committed to supporting cancer research by offering human biospecimens to the researchers and investigators and supporting clinical trials within the Division with the limited scope of service.

Now, under the new leadership of Dr. Ronny Drapkin, and with support from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and a newly awarded Translational Center for Excellence (TCE) grant from the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center, the OCRC is expanding its tissue collection infrastructure and creating a robust biospecimen resource for the Penn Medicine Community. This resource will be a catalyst for collaboration within Penn Medicine and will also contribute to national and international research efforts. The OCRC Tumor BioTrust will work closely with the Tumor Tissue and Biospecimen Bank (TTAB) and the Penn Medicine BioBank (PMBB) to maintain an ongoing banking infrastructure that capitalizes on the large and growing clinical operations of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology.
